From the artist

I have developed a visual taxonomy where disparate imagined characters come together to generate a narrative.  Drawing inspiration from myths, fairy tales, and my own personal history,  I explore this convergence of truth and fantasy. At this intersection, reality can become absurd, illogical, and humorous.  The characters in my paintings tend to exist in various paradises.  Within these landscapes I investigate the tension between the natural world as a reality in need of preservation and nature as a voluptuous imagined garden of delight where fantasy unfolds and abundance is taken for granted.
