Artist Statement
“Art tempts me to take a more serious look at the details: the white laundry against a blue sky, great faces that smile unsuspectingly out of old photographs. I use my art to express my amazement and gratitude for how beautiful an average day can be.”
Erika Crofut studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and Cooper Union. She served as the head of the Salisbury School Art Department for over 20 years and currently teaches in the Housatonic Valley Regional High School artgarage. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Berkshires and New England. Most recently it was featured in a sculpture show at The Norman Rockwell Museum. She works and teaches from her studio in Great Barrington, MA.
The gallery is open during performances. Private showings are available by appointment with the artist.
