Local authors Miriam Karmel and Tom Christopher talk about their new books.

Garden Revolution is the title of Tom Christopher’s latest book (Timber Press, 2017) co-written with landscape designer Larry Weaner. Tom will be presenting in images and words a radically new way to garden.

Tom is the author of more than a dozen gardening books, as well as  articles for The Journal of the Royal Horticultural Society and The New York Times.  Currently he writes a syndicated newspaper column for the Berkshire Botanical Garden.

Miriam will be reading selections from her short story collection, Subtle Variations and Other Stories, published October 2017.  Her story collection was the winning selection in the inaugural First Fiction contest, sponsored by Holy Cow! Press of Duluth, Minnesota and the Lindquist & Vennum Foundation of the Twin Cities.

Miriam Karmel works as a freelance writer specializing in medicine and health. Her stories have been published in Bellevue Literary Review, Minnesota Monthly, and anthologized in Milkweed's Fiction on a Stick.
