SUMMARY:Outdoor Sculpture Show - Closing Saturday July 31
DESCRIPTION:Update: Last day to see the show\, Saturday July 31! \nOpening was Sunday JULY 4\, 4 to 6 pm\, on account of rain and chilliness. \nOn July 4\, how would you like to– \n\nGather safely with friends including many you have not seen since early 2020?\nView wonderful sculptures in a beautiful Sandisfield field?\nSupport the Arts Center while having fun?\n\nThe beautiful field belongs to Liana Toscanini\, former Arts Center president\, longtime Sandisfield resident\, and current Executive Director of the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires. Toscanini suggested the exhibit as a safe way to fundraise for the Arts Center this summer. \nCome to 186 Sandisfield Road (Route 57)\, see the map below. \nThe sculpture show will be open on weekends during the month of July.  A COVID-safe opening reception will be held on Sunday July 4 from 4pm-6pm.  Families welcome! $20 suggested donation for adults. The Arts Center is the recipient of all proceeds from the show. \nA wide walking trail around the perimeter of the field contains semi-circular cut-outs for the sculptures. A golf cart is available for those unable to navigate walking. \nSandisfield is home to several sculpture artists\, many of whom will be featured in the exhibit. \nThe Sandisfield Arts Center is the recipient of all proceeds from an outdoor sculpture exhibit taking place in July in a 5-acre field on Route 57 in Sandisfield. “Field Day” artists hail from Massachusetts and Connecticut\, with many from Sandisfield and neighboring towns. The opening reception is now July 4th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. “Field Day” will remain open on weekends throughout the month of July. Admission is “pay what you can” with a suggested donation of $20 per person for adults. \n“This is a safe\, outdoor event that uses the arts to bring people together again\, after 15 months of pandemic-related hibernation\,” said Toscanini. The Sandisfield Arts Center has suffered major event-related revenue loss\, like many arts organizations across Berkshire County. “It’s a nice\, mission-centric way to help\,” said Toscanini. \nExhibiting artists include Robert Adzema\, Nick Crofut-Brittingham\, Bill Cummings\, Erika Crofut\, Susan Crofut\, Sophie Eisner\, Jamie Goldenberg\, Nancy Johnson\, Jaye Moscariello\, Robert G. Osborne\, Bevan Ramsey\, Jon Riedeman\, Richard Rook\, Karl Saliter\, Robin Tost\, Natalie Tyler\, Peter Vacchina\, Gar Waterman\, Robert Wilk. \n  \n

It will be a great event\, but it won’t be that long! \nMore about Roger: \nRoger Street Friedman was bitten by the music bug early\, learning to write songs(at the age of 12) and developing his studio engineering skills. His life took a left turn in his early 20’s and he left music for a career in his family’s retail display business for about 25 years. But a combination of events during the mid-’00s — the passing of his father and mother\, marriage and\, later\, the births of his two children — steered Friedman back to music\, leading to the acclaimed 2014 debut THE WAITING SKY and 2017’s SHOOT THE MOON. “Those life events really kind of opened the floodgates for me to start writing again\,” he notes. \nRoger has performed at the Clearwater Folk Festival\, Huntington Folk Festival and The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (Grassy Hill Emerging Artist) as well as touring up and down the Northeast\, Mid-Atlantic and South.  Friedman performed at the 2019 NERFA conference in a coveted “formal” showcase\, and is currently planning his 4th studio album for 2022 and happy to be coming to Sandisfield to kick off getting back on the road and performing for a live audience again! \nSponsors \nFlora Parisky\, a donation in memory of Sean Carr 9/19/69 – 10/24/20 \nMatt McCuin/Matt McCuin Landscaping \nFloodgate Farm \nDomaney’s Liquors and Fine Wines \nNote that you will be able to pay with a credit card – click the PayPal button at Checkout\, you’ll come to a page where you can enter your credit card info.
