Follow Peter on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/phasonation/ \nThe outdoor opening and reception is from 4 to 6 PM  on June 5 (rain date June 6).  The exhibit will be on view weekends or by request to gallery@sandisfieldartscenter.org through July 4. \nPhotography by Peter Hason \nArtist’s Statement: “My photographs are typically taken from low angles so the perspective is that of looking up\, which lends an air of reverence and veneration to the subject matter. As Oscar Wilde said\, ‘We are all in the gutter\, but some of us are looking at the stars.’ My work in this exhibit focuses on the highly organized and intricate parallel and juxtaposing lines that emerge in the cityscape when the chaotic rhythm of city life is momentarily muted.” \nAs a native New Yorker who spent his youth plugged into the street culture of the ’80s and ’90s\, Peter Hason’s photography reflects his life-long personal relationship with the landscape\, architecture\, and people of the city as he captures the quiet but breathtaking beauty in the ordinary and everyday. \nThis show\, delayed from 2020\, is dedicated to the memory of longtime Sandisfield Arts Center volunteer and Gallery committee member Jane Hason. The opening reception will be outdoors and the Gallery show will be open to small groups for safe social distancing. \n

DESCRIPTION:This event is from 10:30 AM until 12 noon. The time on the event says it goes to 11 PM that is because of a bug in the website. \nWhen we were closed for on-site events in 2020\, master photographer and friend of the Arts Center\, Thad Kubis\, enabled us to offer 3 very well received photography workshops over Zoom. \nThis season\, while we wait for a safe return to our Arts Center building in September\, Thad is again providing an expert\, engaging workshop for experienced and neophyte photographers using their smartphone or DSLR. \nThad will explain how to create 4 options of Impressionistic Photography\, live during the presentation. Please have your camera (smartphone or DSLR) on hand during the workshop so you can try out these options! \nPre-registration required (no charge)\, up to 30 attendees. \nTo reserve\, scroll down for tickets.
