Join us for this wonderful, warm-hearted Hanukkah/Christmas play by Rod Serling. With his grandfather at death’s door and Hanukkah approaching, Mikey, a nine-year-old Jewish boy, runs out into the city streets looking for the Messiah. His grampa had told the boy it was his last hope, and that the Messiah would appear big and black against the sky, striking down their enemies. Threatened by a crazy preacher, Mikey is rescued by Buckner, a black man, whom Mikey immediately assumes is the Messiah. He rushes home, bringing Buckner with him, and amazing things begin to happen.
Following the play, join us for an informal carol sing with our community choir, along with refreshments and a cookie swap. If you are interested in being in the choir or participating in the cookie swap, email [email protected].
